Just been looking at Roberts s's milling pics and was wondering if there was anyone near Dumfries, Scotland to show me how its done when i get round to buying an Alaskan? Im competent with a saw but never done any milling before, so all the little hints/tips would be handy to know. There'd be a bottle in it for somebodys time.

Cheers lads

I'm in the same boat as you but I plan on buying one and just having a go trial and error hopefully without too many errors. I'm in Devon otherwise I would offer our two heads better than one but a bit far to go.

Yeah its a touch to far... Im getting married in 2 weeks time so when im back off the honey moon il get an alaskan bought and get milling! Keep in touch though... We'll compare notes!

Hi Big Fell,

It's a little bit of a trek, but my workshop is based near Uphall (10 miles west of Edinburgh) and I have several hundred hours chainsaw milling experience should you ever want to come up for the day.

I've actually got quite a lot of timber kicking about at the moment, so the next few months work well for me.

Jonathan
