Excavator attachment - cone screw splitter!

Hi all,

 

I've got a 6ton excavator and been looking into the LASCO cone splitters that can be used on them. Alpine Tractors sell them and just seeing if any of you guys have one.... and what are the pro's and cons....

They seem quite expensive and not sure how they would cope on some tough oak or beech! Seen a video on them but its on small stuff which could go through a processor anyway! Would be looking to split some big trunks with it 30 inch plus... would save a lot of ringing up with chainsaws!!!!

Any info would be great...

i was thinking of making one from a mini digger track motor.i think lasco is realy two expensive.

just put one on 1.5 tonner but on a knotty lump ot enough hydro power

You not getting on that well with your cone splitter on your digger? In a debate whether to go for one or get a pto splitter! The Posch 30t looks a mean bit of kit!

i lke the idea maybe your 6 tonner will have more hydralic power if buying a made one try before you buy.
