Hi I found these pictures from last October's holiday in Barbados and thought you may like to see them.

They were taken with my wifes small camera so unfortunately the quality isnt good but what a lovely tree ~ 25metre girth !!!.

The last picture is obviously not a Boabab but nonetheless still an attractive looking tree.

great stuff#! i'd love to get out to madagascar where most of boabab species grow - and only there i cant remeber exactly but out of 15 or so specices of boabab 13 can only be found in madagascar - there is nice little tale about boabab its a bit religious which i aint but i thought it was a cool story any way - 'God created the boabab trees and planted them in the forests - the boabab trees said to go, we dont like it here, there are too many trees, so god picked up the boabab trees and place them out in mountains where no other trees where to be found but still the boabab trees where not content - 'its too cold and there is not enough soil for our roots, So god picked them up and moved them to the hot muddy swamps - Its too wet the boabs trees said, so god picked them up and moved them to the desert where the trees once agian complained that the sun was too feirce and burnt their trunks. by now god had had enough so he picked up the Boaba trees and flung them in to the earth where they landed up side down with their roots in the air and they got the idea so thought it was best to stop complaining
