Anti kickback thingy

Anyone seen one of these?:

 

Safeguard Ventures producers of the Centurion chainsaw guard for protection against chainsaw kickback injury

 

Don't know how it works ... maybe the top of it smacks you in the mush if the saw kicks, but with less potential devestation to one's noggin than that caused by a bar and fast moving chain. Or something.

There might be a use for it for a first time ever user on a course, to see if he or she can handle a saw doing a top cut, other than that, it would be useless in a professional situation and anyone using it would be laughed off site. Tree officers could be issued with them.
