Hi again, had a few replies regarding this, thanks to those that answered, (I will put some work your way as & when),but could do with some contacts a bit closer to me,Bude/North Devon way, as so far most will have to travel a fair distance, obviously it would be good if I could call on someone at relatively short notice, climbers & groundies. Anyone interested send me an e-mail, ([email protected]), as I've started looking at jobs now.

yes but if you are working for someone else then you should be covered under their insurance both public and employers liability

Your right in that sense,but if there was an incident, god forbid.The client or injured party would claim off the main contractor,and then the main contractor would claim off who ever was responsible as i understand it,but the main reason you have to have your own insurance is because the inland revenue wont recognise you as a sub contractor and this is because every year they lose out on massive amounts of national insurance,basically they want you employed.Its the main contractor that ultimately gets all the hassle so its in there interest that subbies are legitimate.On a lighter note granny batter.
