Your right in that sense,but if there was an incident, god forbid.The client or injured party would claim off the main contractor,and then the main contractor would claim off who ever was responsible as i understand it,but the main reason you have to have your own insurance is because the inland revenue wont recognise you as a sub contractor and this is because every year they lose out on massive amounts of national insurance,basically they want you employed.Its the main contractor that ultimately gets all the hassle so its in there interest that subbies are legitimate.On a lighter note granny batter.
  2. According to HM Revenue and Customs who we all love so much,your not legally a bona fide sub contractor if you don't have your own liability insurance.Who's right?

  5. Yep me and my mate have IRATA level 1 and all those NPTC certs but you need a level 3 on site which we could probably sort out for you.
