After quite a few requests, and a firm order, I'm building a purpose built stumpgrinder. specifications are as follows -

55hp Yanmar 16v turbo engine

live drive to the head

fully radio remote control

built in dozer blade

slew ring swivel with 60" cut width, and 18" depth.

and the new M1 cutting system. - http://www.leonarditreecare.com/M1/M1-Over.html

and the best bit?

Retractable tracked undercarriage, 26" wide...

and a retail price of £18k

Any suggestions?

Good points both...

I havent had time to video the universal grinder. The new machine would be the same chassis, but with its own drive.

I'm interested in why you think its too cheap mike? I've not a lot to compare it too. How much is a predator 50?

£25K'ISH and that's without the remote. Remote as an option is about £2k. Carlton 7015TRX with radio remote and sandvic head sells at around £28k.

Predator 50 vs 7515trx = no comparison.

This machine will not be a competitor to the carlton. Its a high powered back garden grinder, not a site clearance machine.

You and I know that, buts that not how the machines are sold to customers. Even the worst machines can sell well if the advertising is right. Can you see PREDATOR advetising the fact thats its good but not as good as a Carlton. Look at the number of Predator 50's sold to 7015 in the UK. The Predator is probably way out in front. My advice would be don't be too cheap and put the additional money into clever adverising and promotion. Just having the best spec will mean nothing to alot of customers.
