I think im just being really dumb on this one :blushing:,

Basically im just wondering what the real perpose of the oaks male and female catikns are?

Why is there a male catkin for spreading seeds in the spring when theres acorns later in the year?

:confused1:

Thanks.

The male catkin fertilises the female via pollen. Fertilised female then develops into a seed.....basically.
