I actually got it about 20yrs ago but assume it is still published; you could try

"Publications," Forest Resaerch Station, Alice Holt Lodge, Wrecclesham, Farnham, Surrey GU10 4LH. It came as part of a Commission publication "Wood as Fuel"

It would be good if all wood suppliers used this recognised method.

No, the one I have gives clear guidance on selling wood fuel. as well as comparative values for different fuels. There is a code ISBN 0 85538 208 2. I will try and get more info and post soon.
