Why can't I get these to run nice and clean? They just won't tune and seem to be virtually fourstroking at full revs. They won't weaken off enough or will they?

Is it the cheap Chinese carb or something else?

Hedgecutters...tuning the top end based on the no load to full stall scenario is indeed a pig!

 

Due to the higher degree of no load operation than say a saw they are prone to filling the exhaust with unburnt crap since they don't get hot enough to burn it off - makes setting up a bane too; clean the muffler.

Some of them make it worse by having a rev limiter!!!!

Hard to set them as load means cutting.
