Anyone got the Thor Super Magik 18t PTO

I haven't got a thor I have a posch 30 t pto log splitter and its a fantastic piece of equipment

Mines got a little black pouch on the back with two spanners in...has yours ?

 

Only one problem with this new one compared to the one I sold you stevie..is it wont fit in the container unless I take off the extension table so the ram goes right down.

 

I didn't have to do that with the practico 20t

yes it can take a log 1.2 m diameter and it was expensive but a real serious piece of kit

Does anybody have the version which runs off the tractor hydraulics rather than off a pto pump. If so are they any good.

The system operating pressure on the 18 tonner with pump is 250 bar. Most tractors (even new ones) have max hydraulic pressure of 200-220bar. Therefore your 18 tonner would no longer be an 18 tonner!!!

I thought a lower operating pressure just means you need a larger diameter ram to maintain the 18 tonne force.

Correct but on a Thor the ram diameter wont be any bigger.

I have used it very little to be honest, just enough to try it out.

 

It's been sitting gathering dust

 

Initially I can't fault it
