I would not have thought it unidentifiable....what you mean is, you have not identified it. If you are basing the app on presence of unidentified fungus, you gotta hope you get one of the many rather useless T.O's to give it the go ahead...Id never sanction works on flimsy reasoning...not on a tpo'd tree!

Try putting some photos up, take a sample and post it to Kew...there's any number of things you could do..The fact you ask makes me think you domt know what you are doing!! Just me twopenth matey mate eh!

John, you need to offer us more information here really.

It will depend on a lot of variables........

Health & vitality of the Tree

What speicies of Fungi

Where on the Tree

What targets are around the Tree

What's the access to this Tree for people/livestock

You will get my drift, I'm sure :001_smile:

If you don't know the answer to all the above, it may be prudential to seek an expert opinion on site.

Do you have you any pictures of the Tree/Brackets/Targets?

when i say its unidentifiable i mean its 30 ft up and was not prepared to climb in todays pissing rain to have a closer look! The ash is leaning towards a new build house and has a large ish cavity developing at the base, slight die back at the top and lots of epicormic growth on the lower third, short of felling it i am gonna put in for 30%reduction and crown clean.I have never dealt with this T.O so am just seeing if this seems about right,i know its all subjective/objective!
