log splitter choice

Hi guys.

I'm looking into a trailed log splitter for the yard.

i'm considering either the forest master 17ton or the MTD lawnflite 550 (25ton)

at roughly £900 and £1900 respectedly theres a huge price difference and while I appreciate that this will probably be represented in the build quality and the extra split capacity etc is the MTD realy twice as well made?

does anyone have either of these machines, and have any thoughts or comments on them.

Im also considering a small toweable log processor as ive been hording and stacking in lengths - considering the hakki 2x s+ carry - anybody have a rough idea on price.

anyone on here hire out a processor in south wales? (i havent got the ability to run nything requiring pto)

Cheers

Dean

I'll probably go for a splitter rather than a processor (mainly because of storage).

tho I am tempted to just have one big blast and get on top of the wood pile with a hired processor as 2 or 3 days should easily do it.

does any one out there have any opinions or use either of these splitters - think i will be ordering a forest master if not.
