if only you had posted a few weeks ago - as we have just about finished laying a load - and you would have been most welcome to come along

i don't think we have any more scheduled for this year now - but i will check when i go up the woods today - and will pm you if we are going to do anymore (i have a mate who lives in bath (weston area) and it is about an hour drive away)

Hi Ledders,

Does your Local Authority have a Countryside Service (part of the Environment Dept.)? Mine does (Tameside Met.Brgh.Cncl, Gtr.Mcr.) and they run about a dozen hedge laying events each year thru the winter when volunteers are not only welcome but essential to the success of the events. Check your LA's website

Ledders,

you have probably tried this already but its worth having a look-

NHLS - Home page

There is a list of contractors and some of them do training (although you already have done that) and/or will have someone along for a few days.

I'd offer but am a lot more than an hour away from you....
