Log fly?

Hello

 

Just found this forum and hope I'm posting in the right section

 

Just notced that all the logs in both my log stores are covered in tiny flies..both my store of ash and oak.

 

never seen it before..has anyone else?

 

Makes it a pain to bring the wood indoors as the little insects take to flying around the lounge

You could spray them with a horses fly repelant spray,on mix some citronella oil iw water with washing up liquid & spray the log pile with it,might sound daft but could cure the iritating problem with no harm done!

 

Fab response thank you...I will try the citronella mix thank you (once I've finished hanging wallpaper)
