whats the best way of telling that the bar and chain is at the right tension think iv got down too a T but im just making shore as i just had too clean it all out and put the bar and chain back on

if you pinch the chain and lift up , the bottom of the criv link should just about come out of the groove in the bar. but not quite. thats what cs30 told me. hope it helps.

yer thanks m8 thort it was pinching till i took it all off then i found that its in the tip of the bar (sproket) cog? needs a new bar me thinks well it wil pass some jobs then ill get a new stihl bar and chain

to be honest mate i would get an oregon bar and chain for the saw. i prefere them personally. better value fo money and i can never seem to get stihl chains sharp again. so i have aways bought regon for the reason that i can get them rasor sharp really easily.

its a oregon chain and a stihl bar the chain is ok just run the file over too night as its out in the morn stumping im looking at getting a 22" for her keep it hung up till the time i need it then its there and iv got it im ordering 4 chains for it too keep in the lock up as spaires
