Native hedging plants

Try and find out what your local native hedge consists of. It varies. If you plant hawthorn plant 20% blackthorn also. We did a native hedge for a client who needed a traditional native hedge but with high visual amenity. We added Dog Rose, Wayfaring Tree, Hazel, native Dogwood and many more 3 years on whilst it can look like a visual riot to some, to others it is a lovely welcome twist to a native hedge, as though it has put its slap on for a night out!!
