Yes it is on an oak and it is very near a main road.The tree looks healthy but my customer would like to know what is best to do to keep the tree going as it is a main feature of the garden

this ones only a major threat if the form of the tree has significant heavy limbs or even second stems

There are 2 heavy limbs that overhang a main road.I will go back and take some pics tomorrow of the whole tree

Failure is rare with Fistulina, only at late stages and only rthen on the heaviest portions of the tree. (though I did see one failure at staverton that was far from late stage) seeing pics of the tree will help but its not realy ligitimate to be giving consultancy style advice like this over photos!
