Not to bad on the diesel, returns around 28mpg. It is booked in for a cooking oil conversion in June so that should save a few quid

 

 

what engine is it ?

Its a 300tdi, good old engine, very very reliable even with 160,000 on the clock. We have owned this vehicle for the past 7 years and when we got it only had 55,000 on the clock, it was also just a standard 110 hicap, the 6x6 conversion was done by Foley special vehicles

If its a 300tdi you wont need to pay to convert to run on veg/bio diesel - the 300tdi's love veg & bio diesel, my 300tdi is crackin and runs better than it did on reg diesel:icon14:

If you're going to run on 100% veg oil you need things like preheaters to keep the oil viscosity down. otherwise it will sooner or later block injectors and filters. It can melt the glue in filters so special high flow versions can be fitted, and natural rubber seals and hoses are best replaced with synthetic as if used oil is used especially, it attacks natural rubber and breaks down the lovely seals in the injection pump.

I considered changing to a 150 last year but decided that because the 130 had the turning circle of a double decker bus the 150 would be far worse. But there again the advantage would be you could have the same size tipper body plus have a tool cabinet behind the cab,

The rear tyres at the moment are wearing the same as the front, and we have had some very heavy loads on her

The turning circle is the same as a 130, pritty big but great for reversing close coupled chippers
