I assume you are referring to Sudden Oak death, phytopthera ramorum?

If your hardwood is unaffected there should be no problem, and even if it is then you can still receive the timber, but need a DEFRA licence and you will have to burn all the arisings from the timber if you are milling it. If you are selling logs then you will have to make sure that none of the timber you get is from affected areas of the estate.

 

BTW whereabouts in dorset are you? I grew up near wimborne.

That's the one. I'm buying in some ash cord so that should be clean but it's coming by forwarder and I'd like to stack it with the rest of my cordwood near a larch plantation.The woods are about 10 miles south of Wimborne, edge of Wareham forest.Thanks for your help.
