Wood burner

Finally after 25 years cutting wood i'm wanting to buy a woodburner, but would like some advice on which to buy.

We have just had a new combi boiler and radiators fitted so it will only be required to heat the sitting room of 4.5m x 4m.

Any advice appreciated!

I swear by Woodwarm, or anything made by aga/ rayburn. The two mentioned above are also good.

We`ve got a Hamlet two door.Couple of years old now and only replaced the door sealing rope. Nice looking unit with airwash or whatever you call it to keep the glass from getting sooty. Certainly kicks out some heat and theres an option of integrating it into the central heating system if you want at any point.

Our Morso (in the avatar) knocks the spots of our old trusty Yeoman. It knocks out twice the heat for a fraction of the wood. It cost an awful lot more mind but I think it was worth it. I am saving my pennies for a Morso Squirell to replace the Yeoman.

I have a Dunsley Yorkshire, it works very well, hot and clean. But, I have nothing to compare it to, it's the only stove I've had.

 

It is DEFRA approved to burn wood in a smoke control area. They are available with or witout boilers, mine has the boiler and easily heats a 170 litre water tank and 8 radiators. When it's wide open it can make 17KW with wood, which is too much for 8 rads and could benefit from a large heat store tank. Normally I use the built in thermostat to regulate it, the stat controls the air input.
