hi all

is there anyone on here that knows anything about or a good website with info on growing shiitake and enoki mushrooms.

i have a cliant that is interested in growing them and has asked me as they grow on timber.

he plans to buy impregnated dowls that need taping into frest logs to grow.

what is the best conditions to keep the logs in, i'm thinking humide and out of sunlight, but do they need misting with water?

wood the area need a shade cover and what temperature range is good? should they be grown in a dark polytunnel?

is there a type of wood that is better? he has alot of oak/beech/silverbirch/willow. i know willow logs will start growing if he uses them and keeps them damp... :001_tongue:

any advise would be good please, this is new to me and i know there are a few very good fungi guys on here

cheers

good stuff, and hes got good taste in shrooms!, the enoki is better of grown "forced" in jars of impregnated sawdust, with the shitakes log lengths burried one third in soil and as you say shade and moist. patcience too, second year is usualy the best crop.

the thicker the logs the better.
