What is your problem of course the dog is a tool of your trade how else are you supposed to find the truffles in the forest.

Perhaps thats why my truffle enterprise never really took off, I was using the Lab to sniff em out, then he ate them all.

Hi Dean, my accountant claims £1700 per year for use of home as an office, I am not sure how this works but she has done it every year for the last five. I think its meant to include all phone, cleaning and electricity bills.

I claim £240.

When i tried to put it up to £1200 , a realisic rent for an office I was investigated by the tax office and it went back down again.

If you claim for the the costs of the building (ie. mortgage) then you may be liable for capital gains tax on the office if you sell the asset ie. your home(office) ask a good accountant.
