Makita top handle saw??

Just wondering has anyone used the makita DCS3410TH top handle saw,and if so any good or bad comments?

i havent but i have heard some great things..... It is supposed to be great for fine pruning etc as it is so light.....

Here in North America, I know a dealer that speaks well of the saw. Ed Heard, who has woods modded several saws for me, has worked over one of two of them. I hear they are fairly good saws, stock less power than a 200T, and more than a 192T.

 

I've considered getting one, but actually want another modded 192T. They perk right up after mods are done, and the weight difference is significant.

 

I think the 3410TH weighs in at 7.1 lb, also in between the two Stihls......

Sounds good so far,They are only £250 with 1 year warranty great price if they are good.

Wonder how hard it is to get parts for them?

I have heard that you can get them for about £200

the DCS230T is even lighter at 2.5kg and marginally cheaper depending where you look i think. cant find a power rating on it though.

 

makita make good cordless drills, but chainsaws? dont dolmar make them?

The DCS230T is only 22.2cc,0.74kw so not much good

makita/dolmar also make excellent stone saws. i know alot of builders and landscapes who wouldnt use anything else.

Im a stihl man myself and i dont really like change. i was a little upset when we had to change from multiplat rope to these new fandagled rope with colours and stuff new knots to learn bah humbug... that said i have had in the past a makita saw and it was very good at least as good as the stihl.

just picked up my new makita dcs7901 today.used the smaller model none stop for the last year and its brilliant.the small top handled saw is in my opinion totally useless
