first 4 pics are same pollarded oak and last pic is a very close neighbouring oak that has same symptons and has had two snap outs.the client is worried about a large oak in good health roughly 30ft from these 2 trees.

ive suggested a reduction on the oak with the 2 snap outs as the canopy has been opened up due to 1 large snap out, they want to keep both trees but are worried the healthy oak maybe under threat from whatever this is,if you remember from before they have a strong smell of alcohol fermentation and lots of insect activity, mainly the flying variety.

once again many thanks for any info.

We are told the spores are probably airborne so the likelihood of the other tree already having it are high. It may take a little while for the symptoms to present. Prognosis is not good.

cheers paul,so do we think if we remove the tree,we remove the possibility of the disease spreading ??????
