Has anyone used these? Do they work? I am very interested in purchasing one to try but have not heard of anyone using them on tractors and big machinery. I have also heard that they can be too much for the battery and make the electrolyte boil. Would be very interested to hear anyones reports good or bad.

a lot of caravaners i know use small solar panels to trickle charge their batteries, we have also bought a solar panel electric fencer for our pheasant pens, but we havent tried them yet

Very cheap units from Maplins produce very small current. They will not recharge a battery but can maintain a healthy cell/battery whilst not in use indefinitely. Folk I have spoken with claim they are good for winter months. I have no personal experience of this. Cold crank amps vary battery to battery as Im sure you know..I have kept sealed units charged with such a unit...Hope it helps!

got 3 of them in use and if you have a machine sitting unused for a while would say they are well worthwhile - better than letting batteries gradually drain down and beats jump starting tractors for sure.

cheers
