I am currently compiling a presentation on powerline surveys emphasising what makes a good survey. I have little experience of this area of powerline work and am struggling with two definitions what are, Feeders and Line codes

If anyone can shed any light on these topics I would be very grateful.

Thanks

Hi BTS,

I've had a quick chat with an engineer and got the following info;

From a Scottish Power view a Feeder is a substation which has multiple lines leaving it.

Line codes are not a term used up here but we use line numbers or ENID numbers which are given to every line/pole or other equipment on the network.

Hopefully someone from down south can help with the exact meaning from a DNO point of view.

Hope this helps!

I am an OHL surveyor / design engineeer, feeders are OHL routes between substations, line codes are just numbers on poles which refer to that structure numbers, in some regions these are unique to that pole other regions these are just numbers between Switches, hope that helps
