silver birch

so wots going on with the silver birchs as nearly everyone i see latley is not looking good, all branches just drooping.

 

i quoted to remove one yesterday and it was the same but i had noticed a small hole the size of my hand around the base and found a handful of wot should of been the root, which was rotting and just fell apart when touched, no tell tell signs on the ground, i made the client ware of this and that the tree was in danger of just well falling over into his garage and extension but he was more concerned about the ivy that was growing around the base of some poplars:confused1:

Guessing the "droop" is caused by the near-drought conditions this year. Does it look like decay in the trunk as well as the roots?

 

hi andy, there was only decay in the roots, i put my hand in and the roots wer all mushy and some of it was dead and hard, basicly shoved my hand in there and pullled out a load of dead roots, there was no visual reason for why this was goin on
