Thanks for all your help.

Have since phoned up my dealer only to be told the business has been sold on. New owner side to bring it in if I wanted it looked at again but added that it did sound like the money would be better put towards a new saw. No doubt he has a vast array of them to choose from.

 

Have been doing a bit of digging on the net and seems my 625 is the same saw as a Husqvarna 61. Have seen replacement piston/barell sets for sale at £49 so reckon it could be worth repairing. Wouldn't know where to start doing it myself though:001_rolleyes:

 

Will check air gap and try another plug, seems to be more than just the plug as previous dealer has just been putting a new one in and getting it running until next time it stops mid-work.

 

Saw doesn't get daily use. It's a farm saw so can sit for a couple of months sometimes between uses.
