hi there, had this saw for a while, bit mroe than a year mayb. when its hot it wont turn off, have to put full choke on to stall the engine. I've had the handle apart and cleaned all the electrical contacts for the switch but still no joym any ideas appreciated

Usually its the earth wire in the switch or at other end, try and see if the contact is connecting with the switch ??

 

Yep, under the front end of the top handle is a little wire with a spade conection that may have come loose.

have same problem on 6mth old stihl hedgetrimmers, have to 'choke it to death', seems to have fixed itself and now the blower has started doing it..

 

Hedge trimmer is sometimes the earth again by the carb end of things same with blower, the connectors use to be quite brittel.

The ms200T's and the blowers seem to be the worst culprites. Rubbish manufacture. Made in China, assembled in Germany. EU loophole means they can market as made in Germany. Typical value engineering but sadly Stihl have no alround competition. (IMO)
