Help needed please

I would just give them a general purpose feed, such as Phostrogen, and follow instructions, dont over-feed though. Also given the very dry period we've had I should give them a nice little drink too. Are they mulched? If not mulch around the roots, no more than 4inchs, but not right up to the trunks, this will help retain the moisture in the soil esp in this hot spell.

I removed the stump from a red robin shrub the other week.

Customer said it just died all of a sudden. She had another one in the garden that looked in good health.

Both were fairly well established.

I didnt have a clue what killed it if anything.

Sorry but no help whatsoever. :blushing:

Some varieties of Photinia are susceptible to fire-blight, these of course will need incinerating if thats the case.

She had already green wheelied binned the leaves and brash so all that was left for me was a 2 foot high minuscule stump.

If i can help from a gardening view. The redrobins can be pruned fairly hard so take out the windrock and re stake. You can use any liquidfeed (i use miraclegrow) which will need to be used once a fortnight to help encourage new growth and the base will need to be forked over before watering.Out of interest are you near the coast? as this can cause this problem due to the salt in the air which i have seen many times in gardens i look after.Hope this helps TonyP
