Hi all,

I have a Stihl HL 75 long reach hedge trimmer but no cutting head. Does anyone know where I can get a used cutting head from? I need the entire assembly, as I just have the shaft and engine.

thanks

Sandy

£30 plus postage for one in good nick ??

Would work out at £35

Dean,

Sounds like a deal. I have bought the machine on ebay, and it has yet to arrive, so have not actually clapped eyes on it. I could send the link to you, from which you can see what I bought (!). Then we can say for certain whether it will fit. But yes, £35 is done if it is what I need! Thanks, Sandy

Thanks Dale - it should be with me shortly....do you mind holding the head for me until I can check it over? The seller has said it'll need its carbs cleaned out and generally spruced up, but that it runs ok with good compression. So should be able to tell you that it is OK (or not) shortly!

The link is below; hope it works.

Goodjob you put up the link Sandy, I thought you were talking about the HT75 which is the chainsaw head. The trimmer heads are rediculous to get hold of.

I managed to pick one up the other day after trying for over 6 months on ebay, they go for nearly as much as they are to buy new. I very nearly gave up and bought a new one.

Plenty come up on ebay you just have to keep trying

If you want a chainsaw head for it thats the one I have and they do fit it

Sorry for any confusion mate

TCD had a couple of the fixed ones for sale a while ago, think he sold them on ebay thou. Been looking for the adjustable head for ages me and a mate both have the power units but no head. Think they must be a bit weak, like Dean said they go for nearly new on ebay. And I don't think the heads can be repaired when the go wrong, so be wear buying a damage 1.
