Usually 27 tonne (ish) for an artic - 18 ish for a n 8 wheeler

I used to get 21 tonnes on my FL10 8 wheeler, trick is to plate at 32 tonnes gross.

Biggest Uk timber load on a standard trailer was I know was just over 56 tonnes in 1990 ( legal limit then was 38 or 40 tonnes) from Christchurch to Poole docks about 8 miles and on the ferry to Spain . The drivers said its OK to heap up the sweet chestnut so my boss did. lots of loads went over weight like that to the continent.

I heard about that. Biggest load I ever saw was in france during the windblow clearing -black pine pulp heading to a mill, 81 tonnes over the bridge. Hilarious
