Hi, Im not sure if this is the right place for this post, but its sort of about training!? Im having a web site made, what things would people like to see? What kind of content, detail, bonny pics etc.......

Didn't scare you away last time you started a thread then mate?:thumbup1:

If you want to start knowing what your site should contain you should have a marketing plan. This will cover pretty much every aspect of your business and will make it quite obvious what your website should contain and what it should achieve. If you arent sure what your marketing audit and plan should contain, ill give more info.:001_smile:

i always think a website should be informative , its nice to read some background about the business/people and read friendly- but masses of writing can be off putting, nice pics always add interest, keep simple to start and then can add to it, is there another company similar to yours you could see what headings/pages they run and get some ideas?

I know what content I would include, but would like some opinions as to what people like to see, what keeps them interested etc, personaly I hate the flash, multi coloured ones.

You just need to tailor it to your target market. If you work out your marketing mix 7 p's (see marketing thread in members area if not sure about 7 p's) that will tell you what they want to see. What you say is just as important as how you say it. By that I mean the content is much more important than which pictures you use and how flash it is.

Functionality is very important on a site, as is load speed. Are you getting a web designer to code the site for you?

Seo is also very important. the days of sorting your meta data and forgetting about it are long gone. Pictures are of little use as far as seo goes as bots and crawlers cant see them, they can however see tags to them. Get the site functionality and seo sorted and worry about design and nice pics afterwards.:thumbup1:
