We've decided to toughen up and send a lot more apps/s211 back recently.

Mainly because of a lack of information. Sometimes it quite difficult to work out what the applicant/notifier intends to actually do!

Previously we would give them a call or arrange a meeting and agree an amended application/s211. It just takes too much time and it isn't fair on the people who get it right as they often don't get as much consultation.

So now it goes back with a nice letter explaining things.

The 1App has also given us the option of requiring reports before determining TPO apps (not CAs til regs change). I don't know about other LPAs but I think we're going to play that card very carefully.

Am I missing something in 1APP? I wish to remove a tree in an con Area, not a TPO tree, so surely I put in notification of tree works in con area, BUT it keeps saying I havent filled in TPO tree works, BUT I have already clicked on the button for con area/not tpo??? It keeps throwing it back saying I havent filled n TPO details, which arent required??? :bawling:

Andy - I didn't realise previously that you were trying to submit an application via the planning portal. I tried this afternoon as a member of the public.

All in all I found it a bit buggy. I had to keep skipping back to the overview section to get sections accepted and to finally submit the app I had to log out and log back in. No wonder few people attempt it!

I only tried a TPO app but I'll try a CA on later. Maybe take some screen shots if that will help any one. I'm working on a example application as a paper copy at the moment so I'll scan it in and post it up.

I think the tpo application will be easier on the portal, than notification for CA, simply because on the tpo you have to fill in all the areas. I spent 2 hrs this am trying to get around the CA, ticked the necessary boxes each time, only for it to get bounced back each time as I hadnt filled the tpo section. What have I missed???? I really want to try and get it sussed, as it should be more straight forward than doing the 3 copies of paperwork!! At least with the tpo, you have to list the tpo no, and diagrams of intended works, site plans and so on.

Strange thing is that you have to click whether its a) tpo or b) con/area but then it goes back to say you havent completed tpo?? In 031 (paperwork) you simply dont fill in the tpo section. I can see a serious problem with people just not bothering with all this hassle, esp the owners who used to be able to apply simply, now there is so much detail req'd.
