planting quote 400 norway spruce

Have been asked to give a quote for planting 400 norway spruce roughly 12ft each. The area has easy access and nice soil conditions (easy digging), have only ever done small scale planting ie back gardens etc. could do with some advice on planting pricing per tree ect.

Same as any job really mate, work out how many you can do per day, then divide what you want to earn per day by the number of trees. Then account for any associated costs such as plant hire, stakes, ties, fertilizer, watering etc This will give you a total per tree.

If it was me i would rent an auger and drill all the holes, makes for easy backfilling with nice crumbled soil. We have a 3ft auger on a vermeer mini skid, easily drills 200 + holes a day.

Seems strange to be planting so many large spruce, and especially at this time of year, can you get access to water?
