I used the Lj for about 3 years before I moved to the VT. I like to climb the tree and not the rope when I can. The Lockjack allows the rope to self tether as you ascend as long as there's enough weight on it. This can work against you when in the top of the crown as you can't pay out any slack for movements away (or dare I say up) from your anchor point. The best thing though is its ability to allow you to drop like a stone, with a big push out you can get out to the end of limbs real quick without having to limb walk. It's a dog clutch, so learning to feather the action can be tricky at first. It's a great bit of kit but very expensive.
