im sticking with the bugs, especialy with all them wood pecker holes all over the stump!

 

Oh gawd I hope not. :vroam:

 

It’s 6 by 10 inches, if that’s a bug egg we are going to need a bigger chainsaw

I cannot see an evolutionary strategy in being sheen white and that size if you're full of proteinilicious beasts myself.

ok just googled enteridium lycoperdon and found lots of images of similar lumps, they all seem a bit different to my 'lump' but appear to be fastened to the tree by the same structure.. thanks to all for your help, i'll let it stay but keep an eye out for hama's beasties just in case haha
