Hello, I looked at a job today, Robinia pollard. But the house was situated on a main road (A-road). It's not got double yellows or even single so can I park the truck/chipper up and cone off etc etc. Or being an A-road do I have to get traffic lights?? It's probably a days work.

cheers

Chapter 8 regs mate. it's all down to speeds/ number of vehicles that use road etc. I would say the chances are you will need traffic control and notification to the council highways etc. This allows them to notify emergency services etc so they can avoid any traffic build up. Causing an obstruction to the highway is an offence.

Normal single carriagway, 3.5ton truck so will be blocking 40% of total road width approx

By the way I love the website John, shots are amazing, I'm a keen photographer myself

OOOPPSS sorry De-rail alert!!!

Cheers buddy- Nice One!:001_smile:

I'd say (without looking in the handbook, which is out in the truck) that yes, you would need lights, I use a traffic management company as they set up everything for approx £350-£400.

Thanks again :001_smile:
