Putting up a fence the other day got asked to test out a hammock they'd put up. Re attached it anyway as I wasn't happy with the way they'd done it with the wife being pregnant.

 

Next job is fence going in down the left hand side of the picture.

Just a thought but its a bit like being asked to put up a rope swing. If you have re attached it for them and for some reason it fails due to the new anchor points, it is you who will be getting a letter from their solicitors. I know its a shame we have to think like this but when I have been asked to do anything like this I always think ' how can I cover myself if something goes wrong'

I know exactly what you mean:cursing: Really dislike the blame culture we're in.

 

Subconsciously I must have been thinking of that, as what I've actually done is to back up what they've done, as the tree had actually grown round the string and nails:confused1: that they'd used last year.

 

So the weight is not on my effort but there's if that makes sense?

Sounds good. suppose backing up what they have already done is a good way to go. Like andy says, it looks well tested.

Could always put another hammock underneath as a safety net incase the first one fails.

The only risk I would assess there is dehydration, all hammock testers should have a pint in hand while testing:biggrin:
