Fantastic, thank you for the reply. I have been looking at the IRATA level 1 course for a while now and have been reading about possible work. It seemed that a lot of people do the level 1 aiming for off-shore rig work and many end up doing window cleaning. The competition for work seems high. Like you say, you have to make yourself competitive.

Thanks a lot.:001_smile:

With the off shore work now that is very Hard to get into just as a level one . if y don't have connections or good qualifications , just the tickets alone to allow y to set one foot onto a rig is around the 1600 quid mark and thats only the beggining So this is an avanue that I have not really persued as I don't have the connections or the qualls . I have knowne levels ones get offshore but the allways had a connection or a friend doing it .

Any work yet? I'm going for my 3 this year. Offshore is a very tight knit community. if you're willing to go on long trips, good money can be made working offshore in africa. i know a few boys out there, 71 days on 30 off.
