What’s this interesting material coming out of my stove?

I’ve been finding these sheets of a ceramic like material at the bottom of our log burner. My missus puts chicken carcasses in when I’m not watching but nothing else odd.

Looks like asbestos, possibly chimney liner doesn't look like cast iron

if asbestos[in sheet form] is subjected to extreme heat it explodes,,, violently.

that looks like cast iron.

put a magnet on it, if its magnetic it ain't asbestos, or touch it with a grinder, if you get sparks,, it ain't asbestos.

No it’s really light weight material - like a brittle ceramic. The stove is a recent install of an older machine so no asbestos and there’s no firebricks in it - just heavy cast iron. I’ll see if I can match up the curve to the stove to see if it’s some sort of deposit that’s fallen off.

What make/model stove is it?

It’s a Jøtul - is it called an F5?  It’s that little cathedral like thing in the background.
