Hi all.  New here.  But surprised the security answer to what does a tree surgeon use to cut wood is not... Karate chop it into submission while downing monster🤷🏼‍♂️.  But there you go.

Anybody know a good place to get parts for old saws except a full spare saw off eBay. (In ireland or uk)

I have a jonsered 625ii thats mostly for firewood and a bit of clearing here and there.  Been running kind of boggy for a bit.  I had a play about with it before i went away to work a few weeks ago. Cleaned the carb and a play with the high and low needles.  Can get it to run nice on the bench but still boggy when cutting.  So took it to a fella who works on mowers and strimmers etc.  he said its not fixable thinks somethings worn out in the carb.   I know the husky 61 is similar but how much are the parts interchangable?

Im going to have another look at it when i get home next week to see if i can find anything when i have more time.  Bur if i can get a carb cheap and just throw it on that would be the easiest and quickest way if something is actually worn, as i assume carb rebuild kits are obsolete now with the age.

Hi, there's really not much to wear out in a carb except the stuff in a carb kit... and China reproduces nearly all of them and they usually arrive a lot quicker than you'd think.

Not only that, I've found that most kits are comprehensive and include almost every option possible to allow for variation and are good quality, so you usually get much more than you need.

I recently got a carb kit for my Jonsereds 49SP with their Speedpak delivery service in only a week or so.

Here's a link to what you might need, you should be able to compare your carb parts to the various bits from the pics, cheers.
