I bought this saw used. It doesn't run well at all, stalls on low idle at times, after high revs it cuts out once you release the accelerator. Carb has been stripped and cleaned.Any help will be appreciated.

Any reduction in compressor what ever reason always effects the idle first, so you need to confirm the piston, ring and cylinder are in good condition, it might be interesting if your friendly local dealer could plug it in and look at the carb setting, the L setting is the most telling as to how it is running.

Does the saw hang for a second or two from the starter rope (confirming reasonable compression)?  What does the piston look like? Any leaks in the fuel and impulse line.
