yes I made reasonable offers on those, but the sellers are not really budging on the price, despite the best offer option, some of those saws have been listed for months, nobody in their right mind is going to pay such high coin for unseen saws that were chucked in a barn and nobody knows what was wrong with them when they were left to rot.

their parts sources at best.

I've paid good money for good running saws, 166 dolmars, and older Dolmars ca,s cc,etc ,teles, and such like.  but they were good examples and clearly treated well in their working life.

I'm 72, I worked most of my life with saws, [over 55 years] the last 33 on a large wooded estate, I still fell the odd giant, and cut my own wood for my woodburner, my retirement is filled with a little fishing, and collecting, rebuilding, and maintaining  old saws some of which I had most of my life, and most I still use.

most of the old boys I learnt so much from have sadly passed, but I think of them when I use a particular saw that was one of their favorites.

I would like before I join them a McCulloch 125 sp,, yeah I know,, but an old mans gotta have a dream,eh.

You could be me 😄 . I am 72 and retired . I too would like a big old Mac , the one with the cart engine . I started with an all metal Jonsered and a non AV Alko . Berst saws I ever had were the older Husqvarna 394xp . Had 3 of those with the Tillotson carb . Got a Crocky ported 395 now . In fact all my saws are ported . Spud did some of them . The 372xp  is a cracker .

Well , would you believe it??

one of those L65,s is on its way to me, the seller dropped the price by a considerable amount, and I decided to accept the offer.

so if I don't find the parts for the one I have, it becomes the "parts saw"

a nice result, I wonder if they read my comments on here?

Trouble is , and I hope it does not apply to you , usually the bits that fail are the bits that fail on all those model saws . You might end up with another one the same as the one you got already . Fingers crossed .
