It's been discussed on other threads before, the red HP is or was JASO rated.

 

The green seems to run cleaner, but isn't rated.

 

I've only switched to green as its what's always in-store and red was order in, but have noticed whilst it runs well it can be a bit sparky especially when running full throttle on the log pile, so presumably the ash is burning.

Aye, I read some of the other threads and have a better idea about different 2-stroke. Most folk that use it seem perfectly happy with the Stihl green (dark blue?).

I must admit red oil is much more obvious to the eye on a dark morning!
