Acer / Maple Tree - Possible Disease

Question

I've just moved into a house with a beautiful maple tree.

One of the branches has brown curled leaves and the bark on the tree doesn't look right but I'm no expert.

Can anyone help identify what is wrong and offer advice on what to do.

Thanks very much.

That bark looks like it's dead and flaking off. Get a recommendation for a local tree surgeon to come and have a look, difficult to say off photos but could be whole branch died back.

It happens, sometimes it's the start of whole tree decline or sometimes just one branch.
