Advice for an apprenticeship in UK

Whilst it's been a long time since I was an apprentice, albeit briefly as back then it was like £70 a week but that came with conditions.

I don't think your actually employed as an apprentice, they're usually government funded and these things come with lots of strings attached to prevent what's happening.

Or tax breaks, I'm sure someone will have a better explanation?.

Went to the ops manager and they said that I would get tickets by some date, that came and gone, then another date and it just keeps cycling on from there.
Went to the owner fairly recently, to tell ask them and they said that there is a plan for me but nothing is booked, the same answer I got a few months ago.

Starting to look else where, but I keep getting told they are looking for people with tickets.

I asked the other half who does HR and contract stuff. She said much what Gareth said above, finished with "your position depends on your employment contract. It should mention in your contract you are an apprentice and the intended formal training to complete your apprenticeship. If your contract states this you can hold them to it, if they fob you off your first port of call is ACAS.

If your contract doesn't mention apprenticeship you've been had over, you've no comeback and she advises you leave as soon as practicable because they've shown the type of business they are".
