Any ideas what's on with this Oak tree, I have been keeping an eye on it over the last few years and the blackened bark has spread now all round the stem. Lots of slime flux present. A fairly valuable target under it.

Lots of lichen masking the problem. I am seeing bleeding cankers which could be due to several things including Phytophthora, Armillaria or bark beetles.
