Hello

I don't know what type of tree this is. It used to produce lots of red leaves from spring through to Autumn. Now it only produces minimal leaves which often fall off early, I t has not bee pruned or touched in any way. I just wondered if there is anything I could do to revive it such as pruning it etc..

Many thanks

Andy

It’s a purple plum, prunus pissardii.

Not very long lived and I have found that they don’t react well to pruning.

You could try mulching the roots and other stuff, or take it out and plant another, 4/5 years you’ll have a decent tree.
